Full Professor IDAEA-CSIC,Barcelona, Spain since 1999 to date. From 2008-2023, Director of ICRA, Girona, Spain, and from 2016 – 2023 Visiting Professor at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Awarded as Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universities of Ioannina, Greece, in 2014 and by the University of Lleida, June 2021 and Almeria , Spain in May 2022. Honorary and Guest Professor at ZAFU, Hangzhou, China in 2019 till March 202 and Foreign Expert of East China University of Science & Technology, Shanghai, China, 2021-2022. From January 2022 till December 2026 he has been appointed Adjunct Professor in Sustainability Cluster, School of Engineering at the UPES, Dehradun, India .

Biography:
Prof Qiang Liu is a researcher at the school of Environmental and Chemical Engineering at Shanghai University, China. Currently, he also served as a vice dean of the ULisbon school in Shanghai University. His research interests include the disposal and recycling of solid waste and the removal of emerging pollutants from environmental media. In the past 10 years, he won over 10 million (RMB) in competitive research funding, including 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 6 projects from the Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China. He has to date published more than 110 fully refereed journal papers.
Anne S. Meyer is a Professor of Enzyme Technology, Head of the Protein Chemistry & Enzyme Technology Section at Dept. of Biotechnology and Biomedicine, Technical University of Denmark. The Section comprises 8 professor research groups, in total ~75 persons, incl. ~20 PhD students. She is the group leader of Enzyme Technology in the Section.

Biography:
Prof Nghiem is the Director of the Centre for Technology in Water & Wastewater (CTWW) at UTS. As the Director, he provides research leadership and vision to guide the research activities of CTWW with 27 full time academic core members. Major research strengths of CTWW include water infrastructure, water sensitive urban design, bioengineering and microbiology technologies, and water & waste treatment technologies. His current research work centres around the development of new water technologies for the Water – Energy nexus. Prof Nghiem has published over 400 peer reviewed journal publications (Google h-index = 106 & >37,000 citations). He has supervised to completion 27 PhD and 11 MPhil students. Prof Nghiem currently serves as an Editor-in-chief of Environmental Technology & Innovation and Editor of Journal of Membrane Science.

Ngo, Huu Hao (Hao) is currently a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Engineering and being Deputy Director, Centre for Technology in Water and Wastewater, and Co-Director, Joint Research Centre for Environmental Green Bioprocess, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, FEIT, University of Technology Sydney. He has been elected as President, International Bioprocessing Association, Distinguished Fellow of International Bioprocessing Association, and Fellow of International Water Association. He is also the Founder and Executive Coordinator of the new established Australasia Practical Net Zero Emissions Society. Hao’s expertise and practical experience include advanced biological waste/wastewater treatment processes, circular economy based clean technologies, resource recovery, bioenergy, minimization of wastes and net zero emissions, membrane technologies, alternative water resources, and environmental impacts assessment. Hao has been named as Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate Analytics, Web of Science) in 2 categories (Environment and Ecology; Biology and Biochemistry), in 2021 and 2022, in Category of Biology and Chemistry in 2020,, and in Category of Cross Field in 2019; Hao has also been Leader in Environmental Science and Leader in Biotechnology (2021, 2023), Leader in Environmental Science (2020), and Leader in Biotechnology (2019) in Australia.
Professor Ashok Pandey is currently a Distinguished Scientist at the Centre for Innovation and Translational Research, CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, India. His major R&D interests are in industrial/environmental biotechnology and energy biosciences. Dr. Jörg Rinklebe is Professor for Soil- and Groundwater-Management at the University of Wuppertal, Germany. He has been selected as ISI Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. Prof. Rinklebe is President of the International Society of Trace Element Biogeochemistry (ISTEB). His academic background covers environmental science, bioavailability of emerging contaminants, and remediation of contaminated sites. His main research is on soils, sediments, waters, plants, and their pollutions and linked biogeochemical issues with a special focus in redox chemistry. He also has a certain expertise in soil microbiology.
Prof. Rinklebe published plenty of scientific papers in leading international and national journals.
According to SCOPUS data base (26.07.2023), he published 496 research papers, which have been cited 26,225.0 times with h-index = 84. Also, he published four books entitled „Trace Elements in Waterlogged Soils and Sediments” (2016), “Nickel in Soils and Plants” (2018), “Soil and Groundwater Remediation Technologies” (2020), “Vanadium in soils and plants” (2022), as well as numerous book chapters.

He completed postgraduate studies in the field of development and market management in the power industry, managerial skills and the training program „Project Management for Executives – PMI”. After completing his studies, he worked at the Poznań University of Technology and then at Energetyka Poznańska. He is currently the head of the Innovation Office at ENEA S.A. In the past, he was also a member of the management board of ENEA Innowacje. He deals with the development and implementation of innovative green technologies in the power industry. As part of his professional work, he also carried out many other tasks, including: implementation and monitoring of the company’s strategy, implementation of project management methodology, implementation of benchmarking studies, implementation of key performance indicators and optimization programs. He cooperates with the Polish Committee for Standardization, the Polish Society for Transmission and Distribution of Electricity, the Association of Polish Electricians and other industry organizations. He is the author and co-author of over 150 scientific and popular science articles in the field of power engineering, new technologies and standardization.
